We hope to achieve the following objectives by putting up this competition

• Provide a platform for students to exercise their translation talent and skills

• Encourage students to think about the cultural implications of being bilingual

• Through translating the poems from Collection of June Fourth Poems: Commemorating the Tiananmen Square Protest the contest serves as a channel for students to show their concern to the violence in Hong Kong.
